The Slauerhoffbrug in Leeuwarden is a so-called Staartbrug. When opened, the bridge rotates at an angle of 45 degrees to the bridge axis. The bridge trap of 13 x 15 meters protrudes 45 meters above the water level in the open position.
The bridge is hydraulically driven by 2 double-acting cylinders with a diameter of 360 mm and a length of 4100 mm.
